[PROPOSAL] Apache Arrow Java 19.0.0 release ?
Hi folks,
I propose to submit a new Arrow Java release to vote.
As discussed previously, I would like to propose a regular release
pace for Arrow Java.
Thoughts ?

JB

Hi Gang
Thanks for volunteering for the release manager. I'm doing a pass on

It seems that there is a consensus to release 18.3.0. I'll follow up with
it.

I don't think 18.2.1 vs 18.3.0 is too relevant but I took a look on the
commits and there are some minor features like:
https://github.com/apache/arrow-java/pull/697
https://github.com/apache/arrow-java/pull/660
18.3.0 sounds good to me.

Following SemVer if it's only fixes and dependencies it should be a patch
version bump so 18.2.1

If this is not in a hurry, I'd like to be the release manager to go through

As the release will include only dependency updates and fixes (no new
feature for now), 18.3 makes more sense to me.
Thoughts ?

Should we call it 18.3 or 19.0? If we’re not tied to the C++ release process anymore I’d like to follow semver if possible
