[jira] [Commented] (BIGTOP-3998) Ambari not working in Rocky Linux 8

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-3998?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17791916#comment-17791916 ]

Wilson M Penha Jr. commented on BIGTOP-3998:
--------------------------------------------

The issue described by Luciano needs a bit of elaboration as it seems to be an issue at Bigtop build of bgtp-ambari-mpack-1.0.0.0-SNAPSHOT/stacks/BGTP/1.0/repos/repoinfo.xml is pointing to redhat7 / [http://repos.bigtop.apache.org/releases/3.2.1/centos/7/$basearch]

then when try install ambari-server it detects rocky8 instead of redhat7 then changing os_family.json by adding rocky and version 8 allow ambari-server to start

follow to load the blueprint install it gets the second issue of "An internal system exception occurred: Operating system type redhat8 is not supported by stack BGTP-1.0"  that means the rpm build by bigtop is causing these issues

once bigtop fix those inconsistences then we can jump to a possible ambari product issue
