   This issue was reviewed as part of the JIRA-migrated backlog triage.
   
   Findings: this is an internal engineering verification task (HUDI-8567) to confirm column projection still selects only the requested columns plus preCombine/ordering fields for DefaultHoodieRecordPayload and the EVENT_TIME_ORDERING merge mode; it is not a user-reported bug. The JIRA remains Open (fixVersion 1.1.0) with no linked PR, and no merged PR on master carries out this verification, although the broader payload-deprecation effort (RFC-101) is progressing in this area.
   
   Keeping open as a tracked development task.
