EHCache is not alive

Hi all,

After upgrading a webapp to Cocoon 2.1.6.1, I am often experiencing 
errors of the "cocoon-ehcache 2 is not alive" form.
Reloading the webapp seems to fix the problem, but only for a while.

Anyone having any idea? I couldn't manage to find anything relevant on 
the list and on Google itself.
