Website stats - LIVE

Big thanks to Nick for enabling google analytics on our website. Since we
started tracking, i.e. in the past 5 hours, there have been 352 unique
visitors to the site! And we have 21 visitors right now (real time)

Twitter seems to be a big traffic source. Keep on tweeting! I will put
out an official tweet about the new website soon.

Here is a live page that shows the current stats:
http://www.seethestats.com/site/flex.apache.org/STSM3xLp4bs

If folks prefer, we could embed this page in our site itself. If not, this
link above will always work.

Moreover, any PMC member can become an admin for the Apache Flex account in
Google Analytics. Please let me know if any PMC member is interested in
taking control of this effort.

Happy tracking!

Thanks,
Om

I added this to the wiki so the link doesn't get lost :)

It was pretty cool to see the stats pop up as soon as I put the tracker on.
I think the first 10 minutes there were over 25 active people on the site.
This should really give us a sense of how popular we are...

Liked these tweets I saw yesterday:
Hi guys! +1.000.000 for you. Much better than any stuff shipped by Adobe before.
Hey, this "Flex" thing seems great, Adobe should make something like that.

There been over 700 visits from twitter links and over 200 from facebook in the past couple of days.

Wonder what it will drop down to once the news about the new web site settles down?

It's been blowing me away too. I can't imagine the impact we could have
made if the timing would have worked better between the press releases and
the new website.

Either way, If anybody wants to help me keep the content fresh that would
rock too. In particular we still need to do some scrubbing of the external
content links -- like the videos and how-to stuff. Looking at the stats
coming back from the goog it seems people are looking to learn. Right now,
we quickly being the only source for this type of content (as Adobe goes
down the road of dropping content from the ADC).

Google analytics tracks stats by a call made to a javascript function
available in each page we want to track. Unless robots are invoking these
js functions (highly unlikely) search engine robots will not affect the
stats.

The about-people.html page accounts for only 197 hits of the total 2,340
unique page views. The website root, about-features.html, installer.html,
doc-getstarted.html, doc-videos.html, download-utilities.html pages account
for the bulk of the unique page views.

I think the publicity we got for the recent releases and more importantly
the new website launch got us a lot of buzz.

All the more reason for us to keep pushing out releases and continue our PR
efforts on blogs and social media.

Big thanks to Nick for enabling google analytics on our website. Since we

Twitter seems to be a big traffic source. Keep on tweeting! I will put
