I solved this issue by renaming/removing the following folders from Python:

<python_dir>\Lib\site-packages\svn 
<python_dir>\Lib\site-packages\libsvn 

and after that I installed another set of Python 2.x bindings (dated August
9th, 2009) from this site:

http://page2rss.com/page?url=subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100%26expandFolder=8100%26folderID=8100

For Python 2.5:
http://subversion.tigris.org/files/documents/15/46482/svn-python-1.6.4.win32-py2.5.exe

For Python 2.6:
http://subversion.tigris.org/files/documents/15/46481/svn-python-1.6.4.win32-py2.6.exe

Tested with Active Python 2.5 and 2.6 and the new bindings are working fine.
