[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-7428) Spark Github Mirroring Takes Several Hours

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-7428?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13929867#comment-13929867 ]

Jake Farrell commented on INFRA-7428:
-------------------------------------

All mirrors update from git-wip at 36 past each hour, there are no exclusions. We are working towards migrating off the server that git.a.o currently runs on, but there is no set timeframe for that yet.

> We use github very actively for day-to-day development in Spark. On a normal day we've noticed 1-3 hour waits for a given commit to show up on Github after it shows up on this page:
> Today it's been more than three hours and it's still not working. I looked at some other active projects (e.g. Hadoop) and it seems like they sync much more quickly, e.g. on the order of minutes. Is Spark set-up differently from those projects?
> This lag is a big development cost for us because it adds an hour plus delay before patches become visible to everyone else.
