I believe we're seeing the same behaviour on RC3. We've been experiencing a huge spike in calls to the API by individual users (hundreds or thousands of calls, depending on the dashboard), which has degraded the overall usability. We enabled the Flask rate limiter settings, which we'd never needed before. This has helped a bit, but has not resolved the issue

Just confirmed that this may be related to this [PR](https://github.com/apache/superset/pull/36281).
The bug is caused by a useEffect in [TableChart.tsx](https://github.com/apache/superset/blob/master/superset-frontend/plugins/plugin-chart-table/src/TableChart.tsx#L1375-L1400
) (lines 1375-1400) that has serverPaginationData in its dependency array
while also calling updateTableOwnState which UPDATES serverPaginationData.
The Loop:
1. Component renders → clientViewRows or exportColumns changes
2. useEffect runs → calls updateTableOwnState(setDataMask, {...serverPaginationData, clientView: ...})
3. This updates serverPaginationData via setDataMask → triggers parent re-render
4. Parent re-renders with new serverPaginationData → triggers child re-render
5. useEffect runs again because serverPaginationData changed
6. Even though prevClientViewRef is set, the object identity of serverPaginationData differs
7. Loop continues
I don't think this is part of 6.0 so removing it from the board. I can probably still put up a fix, but it won't be as urgent.

Python 3.11.14 is fully supported, so that's not the issue. However, Node 16 is not supported on Superset master—Node.js 20.x is required. Running with Node 16 can cause frontend/backend mismatches, asset build problems, and bugs like repeated chart reloads or failed WebSocket connections [(source)](https://github.com/apache/superset/issues/35823).
To move forward:
- Upgrade to Node 20.x, rebuild frontend assets, and restart Superset.
- Check your browser console/network tab for errors (especially WebSocket 404s or failed connections).
- Confirm if the issue affects only table charts or other chart types.
- If you use async features, make sure the superset-websocket server is running and its config matches your Superset config [(source)](https://github.com/apache/superset/issues/36069).
Let me know what you find or if the issue persists after these steps!

This behavior is likely caused by running Superset master with unsupported Python (3.9) and Node (16) versions. The latest Superset requires Python 3.10 or 3.11 and Node.js 20.x. Using older versions can lead to frontend/backend mismatches, asset build issues, and unexpected frontend bugs—including repeated chart reloads and failed WebSocket connections. Recent changes to table chart logic and chart state management could also be sensitive to version mismatches.
To resolve this, upgrade your environment to Python 3.10+ and Node 20.x, then rebuild and restart Superset. Also, make sure both the Flask backend and the superset-websocket server are running and properly configured if you use async features—misconfiguration here can also cause repeated reloads or queries. If the issue persists after upgrading, check for errors in the browser console and Superset logs, and verify if other chart types are affected as well.
