Coordination factor disabled for BM25 and other new scoring models

Hi,

I know it is recommended to disable the coordination factor when using models other than default TFIDFSimilarity. And out of curiosity i'd like to know the motivation behind it but it is not explained anywhere, not even in  LUCENE-2959, the patches, wiki, PDF's or whatever. So, anyone here that can shed some light on this?
