[jira] Resolved: (IVY-580) organization and module seem redundant in ivy.xml in ivyrep

Ignacio Coloma resolved IVY-580.
--------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

You are right, adding it is not that much of a hassle (and as you say, it saves you from having to understand possibly different repository layouts). I'm closing the bug as "Won't fix".

About the XML Schema/DTD, I could not find any for the ivy.xml and ivysettings.xml files. It would help developers as The Ultimate Source Of Updated Docs along with any XML-compliant IDE.

Sorry for the delay, my mail server got la-la about one month ago and vacations got in the way.

> When Ivy is searching for a module in ivyrep, it already knows about the organization and module of a given file. It seems redundant to add them in the ivy.xml file. If they were optional attributes, it would be easier to add new modules.
> OTOH, adding a DTD/XML Schema would make it easier to browse than the docs.
