[jira] [Commented] (NETBEANS-163) Remove plugin portal from IDE

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-163?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16265831#comment-16265831 ]

Christian Lenz commented on NETBEANS-163:
-----------------------------------------

No one knows which plugin centers are there, so we need a list of all update centers, that the user can add those. I'm not a fan of removing this, because this is an essential part of NetBeans, but if we have too for the first release, then it is so.

> As an Apache project we should not have an automatic reference to the Plugin Portal so we should remove it from the default build.
> Users, of course, will be able to add any update centers (including the Plugin Portal) as before.
