*Steps to reproduce:*
# Configure remote metastore (hive.metastore.uris)
# Create table t1 (a string);
# Create table t2 (a string) partitioned by (b string);
# set hive.exec.dynamic.partition.mode=nonstrict;
# Insert overwrite table t2 partition (b) select a,a from t1;

During construction of DynamicPartitionCtx it tries to read “hive.metastore.partition.name.whitelist.pattern” from the metastore. If no value is configured in hive-site.xml then NULL will be returned. Thrift considers NULL as invalid result and fails with an exception.
