The interesting one is that it shows in windows. Also the MacOSX version did display the splash screen at one point but it was the eclipse image I did try and get it to display the qpidMC one but don't recall if that stopped it displaying or if I just left the display off. I'll check tonight.

[jira] Commented: (QPID-1508) Splash Screen is not displayed on Mac OS X/Linux Builds

Robert Gemmell commented on QPID-1508:
--------------------------------------

I believe the issue to be the absence of the companion 'eclipse' (can be called whatever you want, eg qpidmc in this case would be appropriate) launcher executable file that the launchers have when exported from the Eclipse PDE Builder. Certainly, its the only meaningful difference i could find between what the Ant system constructs and what the PDE Builder output where the splash worked correctly, and in the past i have noted that removing execution permission from the file stoped the splash showing.

As you can see, the console does not need that executable to start, but its got to be there for somthing, and i think this is it...I am planning to look at this next week.

Robert Gemmell commented on QPID-1508:
--------------------------------------

I havent looked, but isnt the windows build still using the old 3.2 launcher along with the eclipse.exe file? If so, thats why it works. The 3.2 linux launcher showed the splash screen fine for me, so long as the eclipse file was executable. the 3.4 launcher also works fine for me, if the eclipse executable is present (which it is when exported from the PDE Builder)
