HELP!how to format Version numbers?

Hi all, 

when updating versions I get the version numbers in the format 
1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, ... 1.14, 1.15, 1.16 ....

Is it possible to configure slide in a way the version numbers 
come out like: 

1.0, 1.2, 1.3, ..., 1.9, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, ..., 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, ....


I tried to do it in the code but that didn't change anything. 

Any help appreciated
