[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-10104) Update jackson to 1.9.13

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-10104?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14149773#comment-14149773 ]

Andrew Wang commented on HADOOP-10104:
--------------------------------------

As an update, this apparently broke something in HBase: HBASE-12099. Our internal integration testing also show issues with Hive and Crunch, not sure if there are JIRAs for those yet.

I think this can be worked around, but this just reminds us that we need to be *very* careful about updating our dependencies. Honestly I'm wary of any classpath updates at all until we fix classpath isolation.

> Jackson is now at 1.9.13, [apparently|http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.codehaus.jackson/jackson-core-asl], hadoop 2.2 at 1.8.8.
> jackson isn't used that much in the code so risk from an update *should* be low
