[jira] [Commented] (KARAF-2370) Add alias command

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KARAF-2370?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13696659#comment-13696659 ]

Jean-Baptiste Onofré commented on KARAF-2370:
---------------------------------------------

I think we can split in two steps:
- just the alias action to create alias for the current session (as you do on Unix). In that case, the user has to update the etc/shell.init.script file by hand, as he does for bashrc, profile, or whatever on Unix shell
- later enhance the commands to persist the aliases in the etc/shell.init.script

> Currently, it's possible to create shell aliases by editing etc/shell.init.script. However, we don't provide a command to create aliases "on the fly", like alias on Unix.
> The alias command should enhance the shell console with new aliases and update the etc/shell.init.script file.
