cannot create mod_jk.so

Hello,

Need help to get rid of this error while creating mod_jk.so file on unix 
aix4.3.3 / apache 1.3.2/ tomcat 3.2.1/ jdk1.1.8

ld: 0711-244 ERROR: No csects or exported symbols have been saved.
apxs:Break: Command failed with rc=8
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.


stop.

Please guide.............
