Telnet task with tar -xvf

I am trying to call tar within a <telnet> task. As long as the .tar isn't
too big, it will extract it with no problem. Other tar files just hang. It
doesn't matter how long I increase the time-out to be. I have also tried
using unzip and it times out as well.

Has anyone else run into this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
