Weird build script problem

I am ecperiencing strange behavior on a Red Hat 6.2 linux
system while executing the build.sh script. I am in bash and
whenever I execute this script I get the following output:
(NOTE: Everything works fine if I cut and paste the contents
to the console)

[root@okclinux1 s3]# sh ./build
Buildfile: build.xml
Project base dir set to: /opt/development/master/s3
' does not exist in this project. 
[root@okclinux1 s3]# 


Any ideas on resolving this problem would be greatly
appreciated.
