Shared library problem

I have created shared library which has following files.
CustomDelegateProcessor
ErrorConstants
ErrorEnrich
ErrorMessage

 All are in same package com.in2m.servicemix.operations.errorhandler

I have kept zip file of this library in smx/hotdeploy

I have a custom operation which uses this shared library. I have added
dependency for shared library in the pom.xml of SUs which are using the
shared library.

Everything goes fine while mvn install, but when I deploy it, I get
following error:
<exception-info>

Re: Shared library problem

I am trying the solution that you have asked.

But the first problem is that it is not able to find the file which we give
for Routing.

When I put following in camel context.xml,
<camelContext id="Validation"
xmlns="http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring">
	  <package>com.in2m.servicemix.operations.updateprofile</package>
  </camelContext>

It should find file named MessageRouting but is not finding it.

Re: Shared library problem

Pratibha,

If you are using Maven to build your Camel SU, you have a pom.xml file,
right?
In that file, you can add a <dependency/> which specifies the groupId,
artifactId and version of the JAR you want to use. Just copy the
section for the servicemix-camel component and modify that one. You
will have to build your JAR with Maven too or add it to the local
repository (using the mvn install:install-file command).

Regards,

Gert

I have removed the classpath entry.

This may be a dumb question but I did not understand this "add a plain
<dependency/> to your pom.xml, referring to the correct jar file"

Re: Shared library problem

As I already told you:

1. put the shared jars into the folder <your SMX install folder>/lib/optional
2. modify your SU's pom.xml to have a dependency entry for the shared libs
3. do NOT deploy the shared lib jar file into hotdeploy folder if you want to
do it like me

Hope this helps.

Lars

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by Lars Heinemann <la...@compart.net>.
This is in the pom.xml's dependency sections of the SU which uses the shared
lib.

For example:
<dependency>
   <groupId>my.group.id</groupId>
   <artifactId>my-shared-lib</artifactId>
   <version>1.0</version>
   <scope>provided</scope>
</dependency>

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by Lars Heinemann <la...@compart.net>.
I decided to simply put the shared lib jar file into folder
"<SMX>/lib/optional" and each SU which needs the lib just
has the dependency defined with <scope>provided</scope>.
This will prevent each SU which uses this shared lib to ship with
the shared lib which will save you a lot of space depending on
your use case.

Until now I can't see any backdraws doing so.

Regards
Lars

I have created a jar using maven and added a dependency as you said. Now
everything works fine.
If I use this as an alternative to shared library what harm do you see in
it? Can I use it?

What am I missing while using shred library?

Re: Shared library problem

Pratibha,

Could you remove the classpath entry and just add a plain <dependency/>
to your pom.xml, referring to the correct jar file? This way, the Maven
JBI plugin will package the JAR file inside the Camel SU for you.

I have created the jar file. Where can I deploy it?
 So that I can use the classpath.xml and give following

<classpath>
	<location>.</location>
        <library>errorhandling</library>
</classpath>

Pratibha,

Just to be sure we aren't chasing a ghost here, could you try adding the
JAR containing the class to the camel SU directly as a dependency
instead of through a shared library?

Gert

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by pratibhaG <pr...@in2m.com>.
When I deploy the SU (which is camel SU) it says it is deployed but the
problem is it does not find the class which is actually doing the routing
that is the class MessageRouting which I have explained earlier.

There's everything you could need in the documentation section under
the classloaders entry.

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by pratibhaG <pr...@in2m.com>.
I have created classpath.xml in resources. these are the contents of the
file:

<classpath><library>errorhandling</library></classpath>

This solved the problem of deploying the component in smx/hoydeploy
It deployed successfully.

But now it does not identify any of the services that I have put in the
file. All these services are tested. They work fine. But now I get following
type of error :

If I give the same flow in another camel SU, it works where I am not using
shared library but just the routing.

Am I missing something in classpath?

Please help

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by Benoît Clouet <be...@gmail.com>.
I solved classpath issues by putting all the classpath stuff in it's
own file named classpath.xml in the same directory as the xbean.xml
file in my SU.

I guess can be explained by the way the servicemix JBI container works.

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by pratibhaG <pr...@in2m.com>.
I got one thing,

Even if it does not allow i have just put it and it built successfully.

The code I have put in camelContext.xml is like this

<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
       xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
       xsi:schemaLocation="

http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.0.xsd
       http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring/camel-spring.xsd
    ">
	<classpath><library>errorhandling</library></classpath>

  <camelContext id="Routing"
xmlns="http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring">
	  <package>com.in2m.servicemix.operations.updateprofile.aa</package>
  </camelContext>
</beans>

Now when I deploy the operation to smx/hotdeploy I get following error:

Pratibha,

Doesn't it work if you put the <classpath/> in <beans/>, right before
the <camelContext/> (as a sibling to it)?

Re: Shared library problem

The problem I am facing is I don't know how to give classpath in camel
context. Because there is no option to put it in camel-context.xml. What is
the alternative?

Re: Shared library problem

Posted by pratibhaG <pr...@in2m.com>.
This is what I have done till now:

1)created a shared library called errorhandling
2)Put the errorhandling zip file in smx/hotdeploy

Now one of my camel component is using this shred library. This is the
camel-context.xml:

<beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans"
       xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
       xsi:schemaLocation="
       http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans
http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-2.0.xsd
       http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring
http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring/camel-spring.xsd
    ">

  <camelContext id="Routing"
xmlns="http://activemq.apache.org/camel/schema/spring">
	  <package>com.in2m.servicemix.operations.updateprofile.aa</package>
</camelContext>
</beans>

This is the route

package com.in2m.servicemix.operations.updateprofile.aa;

import org.apache.camel.builder.RouteBuilder;

import com.in2m.servicemix.operations.errorhandler.ErrorConstants;
import com.in2m.servicemix.operations.errorhandler.CustomDelegateProcessor;

public class MessageRouting extends RouteBuilder {

    public void configure() {

        exception(java.lang.Throwable.class)
        .intercept(new
CustomDelegateProcessor(ErrorConstants.SYSTEM_ERROR));

        exception(java.net.SocketException.class)
        .maximumRedeliveries(5)
        .useExponentialBackOff()
        .initialRedeliveryDelay(300000)
        .backOffMultiplier(2.0)
        .intercept(new
CustomDelegateProcessor(ErrorConstants.SOCKET_ERROR));

from("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/RoutingService")

.to("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/JMSProviderService?mep=in-only")

.to("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/ResponseGeneratorService?mep=in-out");

from("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/DirectorConsumerService")

.setHeader(ErrorConstants.APPLICATION_NAME,constant("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/DirectorService"))
        .intercept(new CustomDelegateProcessor())

.to("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/DirectorService?mep=in-out");

from("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/PortalConsumerService")

.setHeader(ErrorConstants.APPLICATION_NAME,constant("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/PortalService"))
        .intercept(new CustomDelegateProcessor())

.to("jbi:service:http://servicemix.in2m.com/operations/updateprofile/PortalService?mep=in-out");

    }
}

Here when I do new CustomDelegateProcessor, I get the error given in above
message

Re: Shared library problem

L.S.,

Is this perhaps in another SU where you haven't added the
<classpath><library>...</library></classpath> yet?  If ServiceMix is
able to find one class, it should be able to find others from the SL as
well, but only if that SU has the correct reference.

Gert
