How to configure the ehcache to not shutdown?

Hello,

I'm running Cocoon inside JBoss. Our core layer uses hibernate for 
persistence. The problem is that a shutdown of Cocoon shutdowns the 
ehcache, too. But other applications eg. hibernate need the ehcache even 
if Cocoon is not running. Is there a way to configure the ehcache of 
Cocoon to not shutdown the ehcache of hibernate?
