   > Do we want to keep re-using the HFile archiving code for the recovered.edits or would it be better to split it apart? This might be a one-off "enough" situation to not necessitate refactoring the archiver code.
   
   Had same feeling, but thought it would be simpler/quicker to fix it first, then work on a more fancy solution.
