Hi,

I don't think this will work, because /your/ .htaccess will
be overwritten by the .htaccess in www.apache.org/dist/
when you rsync.

I think you need control over the server-config, if your
server is to act as a mirror.

Sorry fot the deay ; regards,

Henk Penning

Two other things I must noticed sorry,

1. In the description above you wrote "Currently, I do not have any banners. However, that may change later. " -- we don't care if you have banners on your website, but do not put them on the mirror or it will be removed. It would be better if you provided us with a 100x34px image so that we may link that to your main website - this image will appear whenever your mirror comes up as closest location for someone downloading.

2. you are using rsync.apache.org, please change to rsync.us.apache.org

thanks.

Hi,

Can you check your mirror configuration , it should be the same as mentioned on the http://www.apache.org/info/how-to-mirror.html page.

Currently , the main root of the mirror does not look right, folder icons missing , foldersfirst not applied, etc, though most of the sub-project folders look ok.

Thanks

PS: Can any of the configs be done through regular .htaccess files?

Hi William,

1. ah ok, no problem, we can add an image in any time.

2. thanks.

If you have full access to the httpd.conf file or a virtualhost file then it is better in there. If not then they should work fine in a .htaccess file, give it a try.
