What I took it to mean was: is there a mod_perl interface to Apache's
dirmagic (or whatever the auto dir listing creator thing is) so
that one may create a new way of displaying dirs without reimplementing
dirmagic completely?

I was surprised by the flaming responses to this question. Usually
people here take it easy on the newbies.

You probably could extend/borrow-code-from Apache::AutoIndex. I've been
meaning to look into this issue myself.

I agree. FYI, from the docs for Apache::AutoIndex: "Please send any
questions or comments to the Apache modperl mailing list
<mo...@apache.org> or to me at <go...@ectoplasm.dyndns.com>."
