[jira] Created: (GERONIMO-1630) IONA's Initial Yoko Contribution

IONA's Initial Yoko Contribution
--------------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-1630
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-1630
     Project: Geronimo
        Type: New Feature
  Components: CORBA
    Versions: 1.1
    Reporter: Adi Sakala

As per the accepted CORBA Proposal [1], IONA Technologies would like to donate a full CORBA implementation to Geronimo Yoko sub project.

The contribution includes full CORBA ORB and IIOP transport from IONA Technologies. The contribution is delivered using the package named Yoko_ob.zip (attached to this message) with following MD5 Checksum (41fd6b5857c5366cf0e28e852839ad84).

This implementation claims full support for ORB and IIOP transport as per CORBA 2.6 specification [2].

Following this I expect community to take and perform required next steps in making a world-class vendor neutral CORBA System available via Apache and delivering a successful project out of CORBA Proposal [1] and corba binding via Celtix to Geronimo providing at least support for IIOP & RMI.
