http://camel.apache.org/rss.html is incorrect

When the instructions on http://camel.apache.org/rss.html are followed,
the website feed url is hammered by camel.

The correct instructions are on:

https://github.com/apache/camel/blob/master/components/camel-rss/src/main/docs/rss-component.adoc

particular the settings:

consumer.delay 60000 Delay in milliseconds between each poll.

which is incorrect, should be:

delay (scheduler) "Milliseconds before the next poll."

with the default of 500 mSec. (which is absurd, so a big warning on
rss.html is justified).

Hi Simon

We are aware of it, and its in process.
We see this from time to time where people say the can help, but they
end up doing nothing, and get in our way.

Stay patient and a new website and updated documentation will be done
later this year - around summer.

There is a message on the top of the home page, just above the Camel box.

The wiki system that is used for the old documentation is broken/bust
and cannot be fixed.

Just wait for a while as the wiki pages are updated once in a while to
the static html pages. You may need to force refresh your browser.

I see only the RSS page updated. The system is probably using a

Re: http://camel.apache.org/rss.html is incorrect

Posted by Simon IJskes - QCG <si...@qcg.nl>.
No problem providing me no karma to fix this.

As i stated before this is damaging to camel and apache.

You should place a message on every page indicating the camel.apache.org
site is outdated.

The easiest place to fix this in in the template. You do'nt have to be a
HTML guru to fix this. You can do this.

checkout the website:

svn co https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/camel/website camel-website

modify the template:

cd camel-website
vi template/template.camel

insert your text blurp in the template.

svn commit --username your-name --password your-password --message
"website template fix"

and force an update by changing a small thing on a cwiki page, or ask
infra for assistance.

You can ask for Karma. Fill a ICLA, send it to Apache and I'll give you Karma to edit the wiki.
And Alt-3 is not feasible, we did the the reverse process to pass from .html to .adoc and we needed a lot of manual intervention. Do the same on the other side will be just a blood bath. Moving from .html and .adoc was a big effort, that we did in 3 person in total.
So please fill an ICLA.

As i dont have the karma to fix this, the best thing you could do is:

Alt-1:
- takedown the pages that are incorrect
- ask infra about a redirect to page with instructions.

Alt-2:
- process _all_ the pages that are incorrect with a script that adds a
header text announcing the new documentation

Alt-3:
- process all the githib adoc files and merge them into the current website.

Alt-3 i think is the best option.

In that case the responsible thing would be to remove the pages that are
not actual anymore.

We are moving the docs to the github repo. We'll build a new site too.

The official docs are on the github repo by the way

The correct instructions are on:

https://github.com/apache/camel/blob/master/components/camel-rss/src/main/docs/rss-component.adoc

particular the settings:

consumer.delay 60000 Delay in milliseconds between each poll.

which is incorrect, should be:

delay (scheduler) "Milliseconds before the next poll."

with the default of 500 mSec. (which is absurd, so a big warning on
rss.html is justified).
