servlet mappings ...

Servlet mapping seems to be giving me some problems ...
Configuration: Apache 1.3.6 (IBM version), Tomcat 3.1 binary release, Sun
JDK1.2.2_006

This is a fragment of my web.xml file:

    <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>
            mw
        </servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>
            /servlet/mw
        </url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>
            mw
        </servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>
            /dataenhancement/*
        </url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

Apache logs appear to indicate that Apache is not redirecting urls of the
form
http:/servername/dataenhancement/<blah> to the mw servlet.

Anyone have any hints as to where my problem may lie? Servlet API appears to
indicate
that this is the way to set up web.xml.
