Summary: Socket operation on non-socket ....
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.0.55
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows ME
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Build
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: lbv_leonardobackes@yahoo.com.br
I'm running the Apache Server 2.0.55 under Windows Millenium in 2 computers: In
my house the apache runs without any problem.
In my school, the computer is running a Windows Milleniu too, but the
processor's clock is faster (566Mhtz) and 64 MB of ram. There, every time I
receive the message:
[Tue Nov 21 20:37:27 2006] [crit] (OS 10038)Socket operation on non-socket:
make _sock: for address 127.0.0.1:80, apr_socket_opt_set: (SO_KEEPALIVE)
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
This message begins to be returned after I changed the HD from one coputer for
another...
PS: Sorry by my bad english :)...

Bugzilla is for tracking bugs in the apache source code, not for resolving
configuration issues. Try users@httpd peer-to-peer support list and do not reopen
this incident.
Read the first paragraph of;
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsme/
if you have any question why your operating system is now officially ignored by
the Apache HTTP Project.

The faulty computer has a very broken windows socket driver available - this
might not be the TCP/IP driver, but a firewall, antivirus, antispyware, or even
spyware or other worms. One of these has installed it's driver on top of the
TCP/IP driver, and didn't implement the socket API...
"(OS 10038)Socket operation on non-socket"
Searching the bug tracking database would have shown you dozens of entries.
But in this case .. "apr_socket_opt_set: (SO_KEEPALIVE) no listening sockets
available" .. you are lost until you replace the faulty software (antivirus
or otherwise).
FYI we really aren't actively supporting or testing any windows 9x/ME versions
anymore, only Windows NT-class operating systems (NT4 SP6, 2000, 2003, XP etc).

Hi,
But, how can I resolve that without change my OS?
I don't have any other Windows (and I hate the Windows XP ). Do reinstall the
Windows ME will help?
Thank you...
