.index vs .indexer

Hello,

I've got this issue filed against the netbeans maven support -
http://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=225811
where users claim it's under some conditions not possible to have
.index folder at the root containing the maven index. Specifically not
for repository groups . Is that correct? is something that can be
changed on archiva's side?

The problem is that with a different choice of index location, the
indexes have to be *only* manually configured rather then being
automatically picked up from poms and/or mirror settings.

I could workaround that by somehow trying various locations waiting
for a hit, but in my understanding it's better for everyone when
there is a "standard" that can be relied upon.

Best regards

Hi Milos,
Yup currently it's not configurable for merged index of repository group.
There is a jira issue https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MRM-1745 .
I hope to fix that for next release
