Fwd: Returned post for announce@apache.org
Hi,
Our announcement message got rejected. Thomas, any idea how to disable
javascript on the new website?
I'll work to fix the KEYs files etc as that is on the old site and I'll
port it over.
Thanks,
Paul Nicolucci

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the
announce@apache.org mailing list.
I'm sorry, your message (enclosed) was not accepted by the moderator.
If the moderator has made any comments, they are shown below.

Sorry, but the announce email cannot be approved.
The download page requires Javascript to operate.
This is unnecessarily restrictive; in particular it is likely to affect
screen readers for the visually impaired.
Also the download page does not include a link to the KEYS file, nor does
it explain how to verify downloads using the signature or the key.
Please fix the issues and submit a fresh announce email.
Thanks,
Sebb.
P.S. It looks like there is a proper download page at
http://myfaces.apache.org/download.html however this does not include 2.3.7.

Subject: [ANNOUNCE] MyFaces Core v2.3.7 Release
The Apache MyFaces team is pleased to announce the release of MyFaces Core
2.3.7.
MyFaces Core is a JavaServer(tm) Faces 2.3 implementation as specified by
JSR-372.
JavaServer Faces (JSF) is a Java specification for building component-based
user interfaces for web applications.
MyFaces Core 2.3.7 is available in both binary and source distributions.
* https://myfaces.apache.org/#/core23?id=downloads
MyFaces Core is also available in the central Maven repository under Group
ID "org.apache.myfaces.core".
Release Notes - MyFaces Core - Version 2.3.7 can be found in the following
link:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10600&version=12346524

The MyFaces Team

I reached back out to the moderator with the following:
* Hi the MyFaces team over the last few months has moved their website
to a new platform using docsify. I don't believe it is possible for the new
site to remove the Javascript.*
* Can you point us to docs that show we can't use javascript on our
website?*
* For now, I'll update the site with the information about verifying the
release as that was an oversight. Would you approve with that? Then the
myfaces team can discuss how to move forward if we can't use
the website we just created to reduce maintenance costs.*
I've also updated the old website for 2.3.7 in svn just in case for some
reason we need to revert back to the old site.
If we get further push back we may need to bring this one up on the next
MyFaces board meeting summary.
Regards,
Paul Nicolucci
