> When running {{ApplicationMaster}} directly, if {{SPARK_YARN_STAGING_DIR}} is not set or set to empty string, {{org.apache.hadoop.fs.Path}} will throw {{IllegalArgumentException}} instead of returning {{null}}. This is not handled and the exception crashes the job.
