   I´m not sure, cause I have not used the debug, but I think that if you try to compile nginx --with-debug and the pagespeed module is here (in fact any module you have set), the pagespeed module tries to compile --with-debug too.
   If you have only nginx w/o pagespeed module. are you able to compile --with-debug?
