[jira] [Commented] (QPID-8641) Add support for Conan package manager (C++)
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-8641?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17720532#comment-17720532 ]
Jonathan Gatley commented on QPID-8641:
---------------------------------------
I have a short-term need to integrate QPID with an existing conan project so I'm going to create a PR for ConanCenter to add a recipe for qpid as a package there. I'll link it here when its complete as a reference.
Leaving this issue open incase an elegant internal solution presents itself, like the dependency provider that Jiri linked.

> [Conan|[https://conan.io/]] is an open-source package manager for C++ projects. It allows developers to manage project dependencies in transparent and declarative manner.
> Currently, installing QPID requires installing pre-requisites such as boost, libuuid, pkgconfig, all which have their own versioning, and then building from source with cmake.
> Adding QPID to [ConanCenter|[https://conan.io/center/]] would ease the process of installing and maintaining QPID, as dependencies can be cleanly declared in a single place (conanfile.py), and installation can be done in a single command.
