[jira] [Created] (SMX4-883) Alter packaging options to better reflect common use cases

Alter packaging options to better reflect common use cases
----------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: SMX4-883
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SMX4-883
             Project: ServiceMix 4
          Issue Type: Improvement
    Affects Versions: 4.3.0
            Reporter: Gert Vanthienen
             Fix For: 4.4.0

Currently, we have one kind of assembly, which is mostly geared towards our existing JBI user base. We would like this to evolve into 3 distinct packaging options:
* apache-servicemix-4.x.0 : our recommended getting started platform, Karaf + Camel/ActiveMQ (+ CXF?)
* apache-servicemix-4.x.0-jbi : our current kit, builds on top of our basic assembly but adds NMR/JBI support plus all JBI components
* apache-servicemix-4.x.0-full : same configuration as the basic assembly, but this one has the bundles for all features in the {{system}} folder to facilitate offline deployment

Jean-Baptiste Onofré commented on SMX4-883:
-------------------------------------------

Just as reminder, I proposed:

- apache-servicemix-4.4.0 which is Karaf + ActiveMQ + CXF + Camel, pre-packaged/pre-configured with a warranty of the integration of these projects. The nmr and jbi features will be available as optional.
- apache-servicemix-4.4.0-jbi which is the previous distribution but nmr & jbi features are installed by default, and as a bootFeatures.
- apache-servicemix-4.4.0-full is the previous distribution but the system repo contains all artifacts required to work offline

Geert Schuring commented on SMX4-883:
-------------------------------------

CXF should definitely be included in the standard distribution.
