[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-7916) IPC Listener thread dead when
OutOfMemoryError occured.
IPC Listener thread dead when OutOfMemoryError occured.
-------------------------------------------------------
Key: HADOOP-7916
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-7916
Project: Hadoop Common
Issue Type: Bug
Reporter: Uma Maheswara Rao G
In one of our environments IPC Listner thread dead when OutOfMemoryError occured.
I see, we already handling the OutOfMemoryError. Here on OutOfMemoryError just log, close the connections then wait for 1 minute and loop again.
Ideally this thread should not die here. But I can see the below log in Hadoop out logs and thread dies.
{quote}
Exception in thread "IPC Server listener on 65113" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
{quote}
Also did not find the OutOfMemoryError handling log message in hadoop log files.
My suspect is that, after handling OutOfMemoryError, it is throwing OutOfMemoryError while logging? so, that it just exited silently?
