[jira] [Commented] (THRIFT-579) Alternative ASIO based fully async
client/server for C++
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-579?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15998433#comment-15998433 ]
James E. King, III commented on THRIFT-579:
-------------------------------------------
This patch would need to be picked up and worked into master, given there have been 7 years of code changes. I like the notion of switching from libevent to boost asio for asynchronous processing. It eliminates a dependency in the project overall; and given we already require boost this seems like a win-win. It would be nice to see this get picked up and driven to completion.

> I'm raising this JIRA on behalf of Erik Bernhardsson.
> Seems this was submitted to the JIRA list on Wed 9 Sep 2009, but I didn't see it until I skimmed the JIRA list feed for thrift-dev.
> I'll attach his original files shortly, though I may just fold them into an SVN trunk checkout first and post the diff.
