Firstly, please don't merge this until I've had a chance to do the two post-release commits (sig tests and spec versions) and re-opened master. That might require an update here.
Then we need to work out how we ship this for 11.2. Initial thought is to merge this to master, then cherry-pick locally, and then a second PR to release112? We'll also need a vote on revised sources (there might be other fixes to get in), and we need to figure out how to sign the resulting updated NBM(s).
A temporary UC for testing the fix might be useful?
