[jira] Commented: (HARMONY-609) AWT, Java2D and SWING tests

Mark Hindess commented on HARMONY-609:
--------------------------------------

Applied in r428293 using a modified script - using "svn move" instead of "mv" - to preserve history properly. Please can you check it has been applied as expected.

I've left the awt and swing tests disabled by default since:

1) Many of them fail on my Debian linux box,

2) The tests seem to "grab" the mouse cursor (and if that wasn't bad enough, not free it properly) and ultimately mess up my window manager (fvwm - yes I know it's archaic! ;-), and

3) Running against an Xnest display the tests (sometimes) hang on the java.awt.ButtonTest.

I plan to test using Xvfb to see if that is any better and to avoid breaking my desktop.

We probably should have a mechanism to avoid running tests requiring a display on headless servers.

Re: [jira] Commented: (HARMONY-609) AWT, Java2D and SWING tests

I've checked integration on Win and Linux platform. I've noted one small
problem and have put patch into the JIRA. That patch is copying images
which are required for Swing tests. On Linux platform I've run awt tests on
SUSE 9.2 locally and RH EL R3 under Exceed. On SUSE there were no errors
while running AWT tests, but some of them failed (26 tests). Under Exceed
several tests hung, but not always. Now we are waiting for integration
of our changes into AWT and SWING modules. After that we will be able to
check all our tests, because this integration includes changes in these
tests.
