[jira] [Commented] (LEGAL-490) Using sphinx-doc as document build tool

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-490?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16970809#comment-16970809 ]

Sean R. Owen commented on LEGAL-490:
------------------------------------

You wouldn't be distributing this tool at all right? just using it to generate docs? I don't think OSS licenses come into play if the code is not redistributed here.

> Recently when investigating documentation site solution of Apache TubeMQ(Incubating) I notice that sphinx-doc is a good tool for it.
> I'd like to ask for help distinguish whether or not its license is compatible with APLv2.
> Here is its license page https://github.com/sphinx-doc/sphinx/blob/master/LICENSE
> Besides, I'd possibly use its tools like sphinx-intl and so on, which seem all under BSD-2-Clause.
> If there is other project using sphinx-doc as documentation tool, I'll appreciate it if you can share the experience!
