Maven 2.0.7 is coming this week, let's prepare for 2.0.8
Hi,
Maven 2.0.7 will most likely hit the streets this week provided the
second vote to release it goes well.
That being the case I'm trying to be a little more proactive with the
next release want users to vote for the issues they want fixed for
2.0.8. With 2.0.7 out it will mean that we'll have 3 releases in just
over 4 months. I would still really like to try and get a maintenance
release out every 6 weeks if possible. So I would ask that users take
a look here:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?
reset=true&mode=hide&sorter/order=DESC&sorter/
field=priority&resolution=-1&pid=10500&fixfor=13141
and vote for the issues they think are important and we will schedule
try and schedule them here:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?
reset=true&mode=hide&sorter/order=DESC&sorter/
field=priority&resolution=-1&pid=10500&fixfor=13139
So think of this as our planning for the next sprint in scrum talk.
You, the users, get a direct say in what gets fixed provided you do
it over the course of the next week. Once the issues are settled then
we work on those issues and only those issues. I can only speak for
myself but I will try to get as many issues sorted out for the next
release given the number of hours people have to contribute. I'm
trying to avoid the last minute pandemonium by users to get issues
they need desperately fixed. Issues with the most votes we will
attempt to fix base on the votes. If there is a huge list of issues
with tied votes then the devs will break the ties. We'll build up the
schedule over the next week and by next Monday the list should be
pretty solid for 2.0.8.
So vote away! Maven 2.0.7 should be out on Wednesday if all goes well.
Thanks,
Jason

Ok thanks.
I'll try to see if I can find some hours to help on it.

Yep, I've been putting bugs back into the 2.0.x bucket that can be
fixed before 2.1, since these will still go on in parallel for a bit.
I started with WAGON-82 which was unfortunately more time consuming
than I thought, but I can work on that and other 2.0.x stuff again
later this week.

Hi team,
Will we release the 2.0.8 ?
It was scheduled for mid-august (
http://docs.codehaus.org/display/MAVEN/Home) and there's always some
annoying blocking bugs in 2.0.7 (return codes, settings not read when
there's no pom, ...).
I know that a lot of us are working to release a first alpha of 2.1. Is
there some of you who will work on 2.0.x ?
