release notes

Hi,

Just wondering where the information for the release notes is pulled from
and if this is done in an automated way? I mainly ask because I want to
make sure that the changes made to the Query class are documented correctly
in the release notes, so I want to put them in the right place. The most
accurate description can actually be found in the commit log:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIVOT-125?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.ext.subversion%3Asubversion-commits-tabpanel

I can manually put them somewhere more sensible if required.

Also, are people putting the Jira issue in to the commit log when committing
code? All you have to do is put the issue id somewhere, e.g. PIVOT-125 and
you'll automatically be able to see the any commits associated with the
issue on the issue's Jira page, as above.

Cheers,
Chris

That looks good enough - I was wondering if it should be in any more detail,
but I guess it is easy enough to see the detail on the issue page if you're
really interested.

Cheers,
Chris

Right. That's how I generated the release notes for this version (though we'll need to update them to include this change). If you put it in JIRA, I'll make sure it gets into the release notes. Thanks.

If people put in the "Fix in version", you can click on "Release Notes" and get

https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=12310863&styleName=Html&version=12313781

Which is pretty useful to pull out and paste into the README or similar.

Cheers
