I've been using the spreadsheet on my computer for a few years. This year it
froze for the first time while moving to the next cell. Screen capture did not
work to recover my latest entries. I had to shut down by using Task Manager.
This now occurs every session and does not fix itself if left alone. I
recently downloaded the 4.1.5 update which removed the previous application.
Problem still occurs. Recovery works for some minutes prior to freeze, but
this is no longer a reliable application for me.

Your understanding is wrong.
Bug tracker is part of the development, as is forums and user mailing list.
Please use forums or user mailing list to Analyse the root cause of your
crashes.
Crashing can be caused by a system instability as by code.
If it is code it crashes usually at a certain action.
If the application crashes at random it is usually that your system got
unstable.
Be more detailed when you describe what's wrong and less emotional. It is
already hard to guess what's wrong. IF you just bitch around no one can help.

Crashed again today when going from cell to cell. I understand the bug
reporting tool is no longer part of the program, even though it says so during
recovery.

I tried resetting my profile and got the registration screen. Unfortunately,
it has frozen a couple times since. As a result, I've been hitting "save"
after every few entries just in case.

This behavior is not typical and AOO works fine with Windows 8.
