That comment does look misleading. I think we should remove that test entirely, because it's not doing anything specific to Mini MR child tasks.
Regarding DeprecatedProperties.apt.vm, we should move it to the bottom with the properties that no longer exist. We should also get rid of the deprecation in ConfigUtil, because the property is not deprecated, it is removed.
