I've merged 1.9.0-SNAPSHOT into master

... and 1.8.0 has been released to Maven central.

For any existing pom.xml's, either update to 1.8.0 or to 1.9.0-SNAPSHOT.

I would imagine our snapshot CI on cloudbees should start building
1.9.0-SNAPSHOT artifacts, but I'm not sure what will happen to any old
1.8.0-SNAPSHOT on that repo.  We ought to delete them, I think.  Jeroen....
could you take a look and perhaps do a quick tidy-up?
