unnecessary additional request during basic authentication

Summary: unnecessary additional request during basic
                    authentication
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.40
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: mod_auth
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: paolo.greco@tera.it

Well, I don't know if it is a real bug, but it's a bit unconfortable.
If an user is already authenticated using basic authentication (ie. "require
user JohnDoe" in .htaccess) and tries to access a page that requires a group
whom he belongs (ie. "require group PosseOfJohnDoe"), the server asks again for
authentication (but the %ENV{remote_user} remains the same, ie. JohnDoe).
