how to resend spamed msgs in james 2.1

We are running james 2.1 version. We are into a situation where a huge
set of emails are sitting in spam folder of our james instance which was
unexpected. Is there a way we can have james resend them. I was trying
to move back the messages from spam to outgoing but it does NOT seem to
help.

 

Any clues/inputs much appreciated!
