How to delete a document

Hi!

Sorry if this has been asked before but as I did not find any searchable
archives, I was not able to check.

In order to understand Lenya I am trying to work a bit as an editor in the
default publication.

I have found out how to create new documents and how to edit existing ones,
but I have not been able to entirely delete a document that I do not need any
more.

How do I do that?

Torsten

Where should I look for Site > Edit > Delete?

My menu bar only has File, Edit, Workflow and Help as main menu items.

Under File (where I would have looked for that) I can only find this menu
items:

- New Document
----
- New Language Version
- Delete Language Version (*1)
----
- Logout

*1 Note: If only one language version of a document is left over this item
is diabled.

when viewing the deleted doc in the trash.

the blog publication doesnt use the site area yet. you can delete an
article in the default publication by going to the site tab and choosing
delete from the menu

Look like I want to take the time to do so.
I don't have an "admin" tab as well. I wish I had. I guess I would find all
the users / roles stuff there?

can you try with

http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/cocoon-2.1/lib/endorsed/Attic/xalan-2.5.1.
jar?hideattic=0

i'm really curious, but so far these kind of problems turned out to be
xslt problems. and 2.5.2 unfortunately has yet other bugs than 2.5.1 or
2.5.0

As I was unable to download xalan 2.5.1 any more I used 2.5.2.

weird. it works for some, and not for others. did you use the src

Hi!

For the benefit of the rest of the list:

That was it. The Admin / Site / Authoring / Live tabs are missing in 1.2 rc
2.

You might want to think of coming up with a 1.3 rc3 soon ...?!?

The site tab is between admin and edit tab.

Doug,

- the document IS in "Workflow State: authoring"
- I am a user who is an editor (otherwise I would most likely not be able to
edit?)

But where is that "Site" tab?

Might it be that this fix did not make it for 1.2 rc 2 (1.2.2004)?

It works for me in the default pub (Lenya from cvs last week). Gregor fixed
this a few weeks back. You need to be a user who is an editor and you need
to be in the "Site" tab section. Select the document that you want to
delete in the tree, click "Edit" from the menu, and then click on "Delete".
Hope this helps.

Re: How to delete a document

Well, there is a use case called delete. But if I call it manually like
this:

http://myserver:8888/mediothek/authoring/features.html?lenya.usecase=delete&lenya.step=showscreen

I get a screen which is asking me to confirm that I really want to delete
all language versions of the document, which is what I intend to do. On that
screen I press the "Delete" Button which takes be back to the login screen of
the publication. (I was logged in before.) When I log in again there I am back
in the edit view and nothing happened.

I also tried to delete some documents manually by removing the files and the
nodes in sitetree.xml. But they keep coming back. Strange ...

Torsten--

I've been working with the blog, and there's currently no way to delete
a document (blog) from there, either (at least not yet). I don't think
the functionality is in there as of yet.
