Robert,

Robert, thank you for a file.
Unfortunately, MSKB article says that is fixed in XP SP1
I have XP SP1 installed.

In my XP afd.sys version is

5.1.2600.1106
size is 131968
date is 2002-08-29

The afd.sys you send has version

5.1.2600.28

You your file is older than the one in my XP.

Should I install this file ?

I know, but as I think I said someplace, I have seen cases where SP1 didn't
fixed it, but the hotfix did.

I don't know. It's worth a try, but remember to backup up the previous one.
