Getting page's html as AJAX response from inputAjaxText
Instead of getting the expected xml response when I submit inputAjaxText, I
get the page's rendered html! I know this because I'm using FireBug to watch
the return. The setter method on the backing bean is never called and the
loading wheel never stops spinning. I can keep pressing the button and keep
sending my requests, but always with the same result. Anyone heard of this
happening?
Thank you for your time.

Thank you for responding. I fixed that and I'm still having problems.

Re: Getting page's html as AJAX response from inputAjaxText
Posted by Mike Kienenberger <mk...@gmail.com>.
You've got the extensions filter mapped twice for /faces/ and twice for .jsf.
I'd imagine the double /faces one won't matter since whichever one
runs first will terminate the filter chain, but having two .jsf ones
would cause the filter to run twice...
I'd dump the duplicate entries and see what happens.

Absolutely! As soon as I get this thing working. I have a facelets taglib for
the sandbox components I could put up.

This is exactly where i wanted to point to.. :)
I am not sure about the binding, we should look into the sources for
this issue.
Travis initially designed this component and completely reworked it, maybe he
can help out.

Erhm, it works now for some reason... The only things I changed since last
time I checked was replaced my EL jars with some I had used awhile back (in
an atempt to fix
http://www.nabble.com/Problems-with-navigationMenuItem-actionListeners-tf2047748.html
my other outstanding problem ) and dropped in the patched version of the jar
containing the component handlers and taglib (On the
Use_Facelets_With_Tomahawk page of the wiki). Thank you for all the help you
have given me.

MethodBinding? I think than you need to provide a ComponentTagHandler
for Facelets.
This is not a Facelets bug. I would say if there is a bug in using
Facelets + Tomahawk (Core or Sandbox), the bug is on the myfaces side ...

Posted by Torsten Krah <tk...@fachschaft.imn.htwk-leipzig.de>.
You have to use state saving method "server" - which is the default, not
client - got the same issue with inputAjaxText.
kind regards

Re: Getting page's html as AJAX response from inputAjaxText
Posted by Gerald Müllan <bi...@gmail.com>.
Hi,
yes, this can happen if there is a server-side error occured during
the ajax-request/response cycle.
Any exceptions you get? Its also often helpful if you step through the
AjaxDecodePhaseListener and see what happens.
cheers,
Gerald
