Problems With saveState

Has anyone had problems combining savestate with facelets? I have a tabbed

form on the second tab, the backingbean resets! Any help would be endlessly
appreciated, This is almost a show stopper for me and I'm on the verge of a

OK, this is Tobago related, right? Probably not related to my problem as my problem is somehow related to a button not firing an ActionEvent, causing the view to be re-created and lose my saved state!

Thanks,

James

What does it mean to "be within the composition"? Did you have to nest the tag inside another component?

I'm interested because I'm seeing a similar problem where a state is being recreated even though the view is the same.

Thanks for any info,

James

Solved it! The <t:saveState value="#{pcwBacker}"/> needs to be within the

Latest development is that it works if I don't use the facelet template it is

Alright... here's the log:

I click the second button

I think so, the messages are retrieved from the FacesContext so it
shouldn't be a problem, give it a try.

Note: if you want <h:messages> to catch also the field-related
messages, don't use the globalOnly attribute.

Maybe it could help having also an <h:messages globalOnly="true">, to

Alright! Latest development: The action method
"#{pcwBacker.enableStepThree}"
isn't being called! What that means... no clue. But that's also the point
of
failure.

Re: Problems With saveState

Not sure if it matters, but have you tried putting an id on your
saveState tag? For example,

<t:saveState id="pcwBacker" value="#{pcwBacker}"/>

This is how we are set up and it works perfectly with Facelets.

Do you have other Tomahawk components working with Facelets? Have you
configured the Tomahawk libraries ?
http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Use_Facelets_with_Tomahawk Perhaps the
t:saveState isn't even being rendered?

That's about all I can think of.

Re: Problems With saveState

saveState works okay for me with Facelets. I did run into a problem when
one of my objects wasn't serializable so state saving failed. If that
happens, MyFaces logs the error. I didn't have logging configured
properly, so I never saw the error.
